Burgers have become a staple food at almost every restaurant, but the locals here know what’s best! There are a few places on Anna Maria Island that are the go-to for burgers. From south to north here are our favorites!
Starting near the public beach, Skinny’s Place is a cash only burger joint established in the early 50’s, and has always been a regular stop for the locals of Holmes Beach and Anna Maria Island. Burgers, hot dogs & home-style sides all right next to the beach.
A neighbor to us here at Salty Mermaid is another fantastic burger joint called Hurricane Hank’s. Newly remodeled, Hank’s has not just burgers on the menu, but plenty of other options as well. This is a centrally located restaurant here on Anna Maria, making it a very popular place to come get a drink and good food in a cool atmosphere.
Moving to the North End of the island, there are two popular burger and finger food stops, one of which is called Slim’s Place, which is a sports bar style restaurant with live music.
Our last favorite is a place called Harry’s Grill just before Pine Avenue on Gulf Drive. With live music, an abundance of craft beers on draft and a great variety on the menu (Voted best burger on the island 2019) , Harry’s Grill makes an awesome stop for lunch or dinner.
